Wireless Tilt Beam
Move Solutions Tilt Beam consists of a wireless and battery-powered tiltmeter attached to a bar, which is then affixed to the structure to measure the degree of slope or tilt over a large area. The device can be set up and managed remotely via Move Solutions IoT Platform.
The Tilt Beam device consists of a triaxial tilt monitoring sensor installed in the center of a steel tubular support. This stand can be 1, 2 or 3 meters long. Typically they are installed in series so that the end of one bar coincides with the start of the next until the required distance is covered. The differential movements of the structure cause a different rotation of the bars and this shows the differential movements or settlements of the structure to be monitored. Installation is quick and easy without the use of cables.
The three-axis wireless Tiltmeter sensor that detects data is extremely accurate and exceptionally stable. Variable and remotely configurable sampling rates, a rugged design and a battery life of up to 8 years make this wireless Tiltmeter suitable for many environments and solutions. The wireless Tiltmeters transmit accurate readings from the site via the LoRaWAN wireless communication protocol via a Gateway.
You can view and interact with your data online using Move Solutions IoT Platform, where there are multiple data processing and correlation algorithms developed by Move Solutions. It is possible to calculate the deflection of the structure with respect to a baseline. It also mounts a temperature sensor to relate thermal excursion and static deformation. Ideal for static monitoring of railways, buildings, bridges or tunnels.

Operation
Operation with Programmed Acquisition | Record of a tilt sample at a fixed cadence as set by the user (once every 2 minutes, 5 minutes, 15 minutes, 30 minutes). Each sample of inclination is derived by averaging 16 seconds of observation. For each acquisition also the temperature is recorded. All sensors are synchronized in time in order to sample the structure at the same time. Acquisition start time is aligned to multiples of the acquisition cadence starting from 00:00. Examples: cadence is 2 minutes: 00.00, 00.02, 00.04, etc. cadence is 5 minutes: 00.00, 00.05, 00.10, etc. cadence is 15 minutes: 00.00, 00.15, 00.30, etc. cadence is 30 minutes: 00:00, 00:30, 01:00, etc. |
