Automated Weather Station
Automated weather stations (sometimes called automatic weather stations) provide an integrated system of components that are used to measure, monitor, and study the weather and climate. These stations are typically used in weather, meteorology, and mesonet applications. AWS can provide valuable data on current conditions as well as forecasting in agricultural, research, PV monitoring, and a variety of other applications.
Typically, such systems include a variety of meteorological sensors, a datalogger with wireless transmission capabilities, and a solar panel for continuous operation. Temperature, wind, and rain are some of the most commonly measured parameters, with other available parameters such as radiation, barometric pressure and relative humidity.
Compact Weather Station
Compact weather stations integrate a variety of standard meteorological sensors into a single, user-friendly instrument. They are usually constructed with meteorological sensors with no moving parts which results in:
-
3D wind speed and direction
-
Robust
-
Extreme accuracy & consistency
-
Maintenance free
-
A long-life cycle with little risk of replacement
-
Suitable for harsh environments
Applications:
-
Highway and traffic control systems
-
PV-Monitoring / Solar Monitoring on solar farms
-
Building automation
-
Weather monitoring at airports, marinas, and ships.
-
Integration into a variety of other systems/solutions which require environmental data.
